About
Hi, there! I’m Blair Salt, a total word nerd and certified grammar geek. Not only am I fascinated by the nuances of language and its ever-changing standards, I’m also passionate about the power good writing has to change the world. Writing has played a huge role in my life for as long as I can remember. From writing creative stories for fun to journaling my thoughts, I’ve always used writing as a tool to express myself and connect with others. As a copywriter and content specialist with over 5 years of experience, I take particular joy in telling stories that engage and inspire readers.
But, this skill set didn’t come from nowhere. When I was growing up, grammar and language debates were common dinner conversations in my house. Are split infinitives evil? Is it a two weeks notice or a two weeks’ notice? And, the most heated debate of them all: are oxford commas important or a waste of character space? I come from a whole family where conversation is practically a competitive sport! So, it’s probably not a surprise that I love storytelling as much as I do.
Today, I pride myself on crafting copy that is succinct, accessible, and expressive. I enjoy active, dynamic sentences that get to the point and take the reader there with them. My favorite part about writing is its ability to capture and share the human experience. Good writing can change how a person feels or what they think. It can inspire someone to take action. And, I think that’s pretty rad.
I can make your job easier!
Whatever your marketing goals are, I can help, from tackling projects you don’t have time for to proofreading final designs for quality assurance.
My Life Outside of Writing
I live in Sacramento, California with my husband, our two rescue dogs, and a rescue cat. We moved here in 2021 from San Antonio, Texas, and one of our favorite things to do these days is explore the mind-blowing beauty and natural diveristy of the Golden State though hiking, camping, and weekend getaways (usually with our dogs). With mountains to the east and wine country and the coast to the west, the hardest part about living here is trying to decide where to visit next!
Outside of writing, I nurture several hobbies. I have an immense love for learning and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology, as well as a Master of Arts in Art History + Criticism. I am also a certified yoga instructor and holistic nutritionist, and I taught yoga for five years before COVID-19 hit and brought the world to a screeching halt.
My background in history, science, and art have made me a deeply curious person who loves to explore the world and learn new things. Travel is a big part of my life, and some of my most life-changing experiences include things like hiking the Inka Trail to Machu Picchu, studying abroad in Oxford, and archaeological field school in Belize.
Dogs and responsible pet ownership are also really important to me. In fact, my passion project is a dog mom blog for childfree women who love their dogs like family. On this blog, I talk about travel, childfree life, and responsible dog ownership, from training to wellness. If that sounds like your jam, you can also follow me on social channels, mainly Instagram, @thedinkdogmom.
I’m always down to connect with new people, so if you have any questions or just want to know a little bit more about what I do, don’t hesitate to reach out!
